Invisalign Q&A

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontics treatment that uses clear plastic aligners to move your teeth into a desirable position. You wear the aligners over the top of your teeth to slowly shift them into a desirable position. The treatment is simple, fast, and highly effective for improving the look and function of your smile.

White Hill Dental also offers braces if you prefer them over Invisalign or if you have more severe orthodontics issues.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

The benefits of Invisalign at White Hill Dental include:

  • Straighter teeth
  • Beautiful smile
  • Bite improvements
  • No more gaps
  • Easier teeth cleaning
  • Self-confidence
  • Improved quality of life
  • Ease of use

You can smile confidently after undergoing Invisalign treatment. Because your aligners are clear, many people won’t notice you’re wearing them.

Is Invisalign right for me?

Your White Hill Dental provider lets you know if Invisalign is a good match after examining your teeth and gums. They also review your oral health history, ask if you have any symptoms, and review the results of your dental X-rays. You might first need an extraction or other dental procedures before undergoing orthodontics treatment with Invisalign or braces.

What should I expect during my treatment?

Your White Hill Dental provider digitally scans your teeth to create your personalized Invisalign aligners. When the aligners are ready, you wear them 20-22 hours every day to slowly shift your teeth. Take the aligners out of your mouth to brush your teeth, floss, and eat. Every week or two, or as directed by your dentist, switch to another set of aligners in your Invisalign series.

Care for your new aligners by brushing them with a toothbrush and toothpaste or using an Invisalign cleaning system. Rinse the aligners in warm water but don’t use hot water, as doing so can ruin the plastic.

How long does Invisalign treatment last?

Invisalign treatment could last as little as six months, up to 18 months, or longer for some patients. Overall, it’s a fast orthodontics treatment that doesn’t take as long as other methods. Call the White Hill Dental office if your aligners get lost or damaged during treatment.
